"Camping on the Cut felt like being transported to a different world in the heart of the city! To be able to sleep under the stars and spend time with new friends on the walking path I use daily, was AMAZING! I can't wait for this year's Camping on the Cut!"

On Saturday, July 20th, at the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard—located along the Dequindre Cut Greenway between Wilkins and Division Streets, Detroit Up North and the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy will be hosting the second annual Camping on the Cut event. In addition to the adult urban camping experience taking place overnight, the Dequindre Cut will be alive with the sounds from local bands and artist for 2019’s WhateverFest, a free DYI music festival from 12pm-10pm.

The Camping on the Cut experience will feature live music, sunrise yoga, bonfires, midnight bike ride, food, cocktails, and more with check in for registered campers beginning at 5PM Saturday, June 1st. After the park closes at 10PM, 400+ people will carry on beneath the stars with the late night storytelling, s’more making, and great conversation around the fires. This is a unique way to experience the Dequindre Cut, enjoy a sense of community, and get “off the grid” in your own backyard.
